Step-by-step help for using canary.
Your Prescriptions
When can I re-order?
Sometimes a script on your dashboard can't be ordered straight away. This is almost always because of a waiting period between supplies — here's how it works and how to know when you can order again.
Why there's a waiting period
When your prescriber writes your script, they can set a minimum number of days between each supply — called a dispensing interval. This is a safety rule set by your prescriber, not by canary or the pharmacy. A pharmacy can't legally dispense your medication while you're inside this interval, so the platform won't let you place the order early either.
The "Order again in X days" badge
If your script is inside its waiting period, its card will show a yellow badge such as Order again in 5 days instead of the Add to cart button. The countdown is measured from the date your medication was last dispensed. Once the date arrives, the button returns and you can order as normal. Depending on how canary is set up, you may be able to place your order a few days before the exact date, so your next supply arrives right on time.
Other reasons a script may not be orderable
- No supplies remaining — the script is finished; you'll need a new one from your prescriber.
- Expired — the script has passed its expiry date and will appear in Old scripts.
- Already in an order — if you have an order underway for that script, you can't order it again until the order is completed.
A quick tip
If you believe your script should be orderable, press Refresh on your dashboard to pull the latest details from the prescription service. If it still looks wrong, contact the canary team — they can look into it for you.
