Step-by-step help for using canary.
Your Account
Personal details
Keeping your profile up to date helps everything run smoothly — from emails about your orders to deliveries arriving at the right person. You can update your details any time from your account page.
What you can update
- Email — where we send order updates and receipts. It must be unique to your account.
- First name and Last name
- Mobile number — e.g. 0400 000 000, so the team can reach you quickly if an order needs a chat.
- Date of birth — entered as DD/MM/YYYY.
- Gender
Medicare details
Depending on how canary is set up, Medicare details may be optional or required. To add them, choose Yes and enter:
- Medicare card number — in the format xxxx xxxxx x, exactly as it appears on your card.
- IRN — the small number next to your name on the card.
- Valid to — the card's expiry, entered as MM/YYYY.
Where Medicare details are optional, choosing No simply removes them from your profile. If canary requires them, you'll be asked for them when activating your account and won't be able to remove them here.
Saving your changes
Once you're done, save the form. You'll see a confirmation message when your details have been updated. If something isn't filled in quite right, a friendly note under the field will show you what to fix.
Staying in the loop
There's also a Keep me updated checkbox on this page. Tick it to receive occasional news and special offers by email, or untick it any time to opt out — it doesn't affect the important emails about your orders.
Taking a break or leaving
From the same page you can deactivate your account (a pause you can come back from) or delete it entirely. Deleting is permanent, so if you're unsure, reach out to the team first — they're happy to help.
